Mark Roebothan was born on April 11th, 1986 in St. John’s, NL. “Moose”, his long-time nickname, participated in Xtreme Hockey, has worked with Xtreme Hockey on numerous occasions, and is now working with Xtreme Hockey defenceman.

Mark grew up in the east end of St. John’s, and played in the Avalon Minor Hockey system from Squirt to Bantam. “Moose” was one of the first ever players to make Team Newfoundland Under-16 as an under-ager in the year 2000.

After one season with the St. John’s AAA Maple Leafs, Roebothan moved to Kanata, Ontario to play for the Kanata Stallions (CJHL) with hopes of securing an NCAA hockey scholarship. Roebothan enjoyed modest success in his first two seasons with Kanata, but transferred to the Empire Junior ‘A’ League in 2004-05 to play with the Valley Junior Wildcats. Roebothan’s strong season with Valley caught the eye of scouts at UMass-Lowell, who inked him to a scholarship.

Mark skated for UMass-Lowell for 4 seasons, while wearing the ‘C’ for most of his tenure there. Once his university hockey career was completed, “moose” had cups of coffee with various minor pro organizations before returning home to Newfoundland to seek employment (he had obtained his BBA while at UMass). Roebothan is now married, has an MBA degree, and lives in St. John’s. When he’s not working with the young defenceman at Xtreme, Mark spends his time making managerial decisions at NewDock and hanging out with friends and family
