2018 Travel Program Information Press Release

Xtreme Hockey will once again be having travel teams in 2018! Below is some pertinent information:

How many teams will Xtreme have?

Our goal is to have one (1) team per age group in the following:

Male - 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004

Female - U10, U12, 2004

2006 Charlottetown, PEI (April 20-22) Oyster Cup

*** Xtreme will be making decisions on female tournament locations the week of October 23rd

What's the Plan?

Strategy; Fall '17

- Contacting eligible players in Xtreme Hockey to ask if they would like to be evaluated for the 2018 Travel Program. There is no formal try-out for the Xtreme Hockey travel program; to be eligible to travel with Xtreme, you must participate in our program.

- Monitoring players who wish to be evaluated for a travel team through power skating, public hockey and X Hockey league games

- Deciding on assistant coaches and team managers

- In the case of the Female teams, recruiting players

Strategy; Winter '18

- Selecting and announcing teams in each age division (early January)

- Having a parents meeting with each team to discuss packages, exact program costs, etc

- Ordering attire, jerseys, and team gear

Strategy; Spring '18

- Teams will practice and have exhibition games

- Acceptance of team gear and clothing

- Teams will travel on the weekend dates specified above

How much will the 2018 Travel Program cost?

Xtreme Hockey has not announced the cost of the travel program for 2018. Traditionally, travel packages include the following:

- Between 8-12 hours of practice time

- 2-4 exhibition games

- Attire

- Tournament registration

- Team insurance

*** flight, hotel, and transportation costs are the responsibility of the individual player
